Benny again. Here's a few that caught my eye from NYTimes. I searched under "All Categories" but used "research* and sociology" for keyword(s). You can limit the search by region if you are geographically-restricted.

I hope this is helpful.

If you are interested in a non-faculty position within academia, I suggest looking at the various research institutes and centers affiliated with universities you like. I work at such a place (and love it!) and we have the ability to hire new researchers without having to go through the approval process that many departments have to go through to get a new faculty line. We have, in the past, been contacted out of the blue by someone who was a great fit for us. We had enough funding to support a new position, so we hired her quickly.

The great thing about working at an affiliated institute is that you get all the benefits of an academic setting without the tenure pressure.
